Head: Kikoy and cotton remnant
2004 Bronze

Like ‘Head; silk stole’, the original fabrics were ‘burnt out’ in the kiln leaving the image within the plaster investment ready for the bronze to be poured into.

The transformation of the fabrics into bronze has occurred with their textures and folds clearly shown. However, this Head has not changed into such a sinister sculpture even though the eyes cannot be seen, only a black hidden space where they should be. It still follows the original idea for the pieces, which was to try and capture the idea that it is impossible to completely know someone.
