Family art workshops at Ipswich Museum

Touching the Tide, a Heritage Lottery funded project about the Suffolk coast from Covehithe to Felixstowe, funded the family art workshops located at the Ipswich Museum. The project ‘brought the Suffolk Coast to Ipswich Museum’ and linked into the wonderful Bird and Geology collections found there. The simple formula was to encourage families to draw onto long lengths of lining paper with felt tips and pastels, using the Collection as reference for their drawings. The ‘drop-in’ workshops were run by two of the Tidal Margins artists who encouraged as many people as possible to join in and have a go.

The workshops were extremely busy, with often every member of the families having a go, from the baby to grandfather – a truly lovely sight.
